So I'm Finally Blogging....

OK... here goes...

In my experience of the Honors Forum class... I think that we are beating a dead horse, beating around the bush, beating ourselves up trying to find something to talk about. We're being beat. This subject is not hard, but it sure isn't easy. When coming into this, I knew nothing about French government, politics, immigration problems, you name it. I knew French fries... but that's about it.

Now it seems like I am even more confused. I feel like the last week we were together, November 29th, we were starting to hit on something good. We weren't being repetitive, and we weren't making silly comments or coming up with common sense answers. We started discussing real answers and real problems. I'm actually kind of sad that we are reaching this point in just the last couple classes we have together.

I like the fact that globalization became a main point for discussion. What is globalization, will it ever happen, and are we ready for it and are we capable of it? I think these are big questions that need to be answered. France is similar to the US in the way it goes about things, and it is starting to remind me of the Civil Rights Movement. Maybe what the people being oppressed in France need is a big rights activist, similar to our own Martin Luther King, Jr. Just an idea of mine.

I guess what I really want to say about the class is that we are moving forward finally in our discussion and our ideas are starting to be expressed and everyone is starting to come together better! I hated the class at first, to be honest, and now I actually like it! I try to put in my two cents every week, but it seems like what I am about to say comes out of someone else's mouth, so if I nod at you when you say something, I agree and was thinking the same thing! (Most of this is directed to my dear fellow loud-mouth, Ciara Lipsey.)

In short, we are coming to an end, but we are actually reaching the beginning.

BAHAHA I came up with that one all by myself...

Oh, and I officially hate snow, except for the fact that I got to watch people wipe out all day.

Yay.

I LOVE you all, my fellow honors buddies

If I had to do a freshman thesis...

If I had to write a freshman thesis, it would probably be something about the Titanic. I don't think you can actually write something like that, but it would be fun. I love the Titanic a lot, and its story and history. I actually went to the Titanic museum a couple weekends ago with my super-duper boyfriend! It was so fun!

Color change! Anyway, I don't know how I would do that, what aspect of it I would discuss, or anything like that. I just like the Titanic, that's all. Hmmm.... And I guess since I don't have much more to post about, I'll just get off-a here!

See ya later

Bloggidy blog blog

Soo here I am blogging for the first time. Yay. To be honest, I don't like blogging, and I guess I will avoid it as much as I possibly can this year. But of course, will do all the assignments that require blogging.

I just uploaded that picture. Nice, isn't it? It is of me and my boyfriend, Ryan at the White Sox game. Now, I wasn't a fan of baseball before Ryan. But now he has me starting to like it, and going to the games and picking out my favorite players on the team. (By the way, mine is Tadahito Iguchi, #15. He's pretty good.)

So my boyfriend's pretty cute, right? Yeah, I know! Ah, love.

Anyway, I guess I should talk about school. I'll discuss all of my classes. Freshman Orentation is ok, seems a little worthless but I have a great group in there. Can't wait for the 8 weeks to be over, and then I only have to wake up for an 8:00 class on Wednesdays! Aren't you jealous? Honors Forum is a little confusing, but I think once we start presenting topics I will get the hang of it.

My 9:00 class is fun, with Dr. Saltzman. He is graphic. Let's just leave it at that. 10:00 is Psychology is Dr. Money. Dr. Money cracks me up. If you want to know why, just ask me. 11:00 is Biology with Dr. Jackson. I LOVE that class! A fun group with a very good professor and a great subject. Science is something I am horrible at, but it is what I am pursuing, since I am a Bio Pre-med major. Hm...

And then I have Choir and Show Choir. Too much fun! I get a workout every Mon Wed Friday in that class!

So let's discuss my dorm situation...

My dorm room is about as big as your average bathroom. I adore my roomie; she's 24 and from Sweden. I have learned a lot of Swedish words and I hope to be able to maybe hold a tiny conversation with someone Swedish by the end of the semester when she leaves. I miss taking a shower with no shoes on. OH, but I do gotta say I love that hi-speed internet. This in itself will be the death of me. I spend too much time looking at Facebook. As we all do. And I miss being home. As much as I hate to say it, I miss being at home in my bed with my puppy, Baxter. Hey, I'll share him in a picture with you. He is dressed up in a polo.

So anyway, that is my life thus far. A-thank you.
